1. How do I handle a parking ticket?
Answer:
In cases where a vehicle operator believes that a parking infraction has been wrongly issued, consideration may be requested from the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer. Complaint forms are available for this purpose at the Municipal Office and on-line. Faulty meters may also be reported in this manner.
Otherwise, there are three options available to a person receiving a parking ticket.
Option 1: Voluntary Fine Payment is used when the person does not wish to dispute the fine, requires a signature on the back of ticket and the early payment amount must be received within 7 days of the date of issuance.
Option 2: Set Fine Payment is used when the person does not wish to dispute the fine, also requires a signature on the back of the ticket and the set fine amount must be received within 15 days of the date of issuance.
Option 3: Trial Option, Not Guilty Plea is used when a person disputes the infraction and wishes to go to Court. Detailed instructions are provided on the reverse of the infraction.
