Transit Fare Reloadable Cards

The Town of Midland has implemented a 'smart card' system on the Midland Transit buses.  The reusable plastic cards can now be purchased at the Municipal Office or Midland Public Library and will replace the existing paper tickets.  This service will allow customers to use the fare card for discounted rides on Midland Transit without pre-purchasing tickets or having the exact cash.

The 'smart card' contains an embedded chip that is recognizable to an electronic reader on the bus.  Customers never have to pay directly for fares again.  Rides can be added to the cards at the Municipal Office, Midland Public Library and even a 20-ride option can be purchased on the bus.

There will be a $3.00 charge for the cards and they can be continually loaded with different ride options, eg. 5, 10, 15, 20 to a maximum of 50 rides.

For more information, please contact the Town of Midland offices at 705-526-4275 ext. 2401 or 2217.  You may also email operations@midland.ca
