Finance
The responsibilities of the Finance Department include the preparation of the annual budget and five-year capital plan, budget administration, tax rate calculations, capital financing and debenturing, management of municipal funds, coordination of the year-end audit, financial statement preparation and reporting, payroll processing, benefits administration, accounts payable and bulk purchasing, financial reporting to Council and assistance to all departments on financial matters.

Financial Information Return - FIR
The Financial Information Return (*FIR) is a standard set of year-end reports which capture financial and statistical information for each Municipality in the Province. Every Municipality in the Province will complete and submit a Financial Information Return to the Ministry each year.
