Smoke-Free Ontario
The following highlights changes to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act that regulates where smoking, vaping and cannabis use is prohibited as they relate to our parks, trails, sport fields and green spaces. Complete list of the places where smoking and vaping are banned.
Under the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017, the areas that are No Smoking and No Vaping have been expanded as follows:
Vaping and smoking tobacco and cannabis are prohibited on playgrounds and sporting areas, and within 20 metres of those locations.
Vaping and smoking tobacco and cannabis are prohibited on the outdoor grounds of a community recreational facility, and within 20 metres of the grounds.
Vaping and smoking tobacco and cannabis are prohibited on the outdoor grounds of a school, and within 20 metres of the grounds.

If you would like to register a complaint about someone smoking tobacco or cannabis or vaping in a location where smoking is banned, call Health Connection at 705-721-7520 or 1-877-721-7520, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a Tobacco Enforcement Officer (TEO) will be assigned to investigate.
