The Town of Midland requires an Oversize/Overweight Permit when the dimensions or weight of a vehicle or load exceeds the normal limits as set out in the Highway Traffic Act. For full details on the normal limits see the Ministry of Transportation's Oversize-Overweight Manual.
There are two types of permits that the Town of Midland issues: single and annual use. Each permit will have specific conditions attached and these must be strictly adhered to. Permits must be carried and produced on demand by a police officer or an officer appointed for carrying out the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act.
Permit holders accept responsibility for any and all damage that may be caused to overhead wires, structures, highways, encroachments or railway right of ways.
