The highlighted indicators outline the progress made to advance the five priorities of Council's Strategic Plan. The report reflects year-end 2023 results and future goals and related activities.

Stabilize and Streamline Service Delivery

Seek operational efficiencies, cost savings, and value for services.

Mid-Term Highlights

  • Shared service agreements with Town of Penetanguishene for Conventional Transit and Building Services finalized.
  • Planning, Building and Engineering service delivery and fee review completed.
  • Organizational Review completed. Senior Leadership Team restructured and fully staffed. 
  • Provincial Innovation award received for use of Artificial Intelligence to Manage Water and Wastewater Infrastructure.

Priority: Infrastructure Management

Ensure sufficient financial resources to maintain infrastructure.

Mid-Term Highlights

  • Financial plan to meet O. Reg. 588/17 completed.
  • Create an Infrastructure Management plan - Secured Provincial Water, Wastewater Funding Assistance (HEWSF program) for infrastructure upgrades/improvements in the amount of $30+ million to provide for residential growth of 3,000+ new homes.

Improve citizen comfort levels and reduce safety concerns.

  • Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (lighting, removal of visual blocks, incentives for businesses, etc.), achieved through  
  • Advocate to County and Province for more funding for social services (including homelessness).
  • Second Hope, Housing, and Health Symposium held.
