The Municipal Accommodation Tax Committee works to promote and grow tourism in Midland while fostering partnerships and collaborative approaches through MAT-supported initiatives.
The purpose of the Committee is to provide feedback on how the MAT funds allocated to the County might be spent, including:
- Marketing and promotional campaigns for Midland Tourism
- Stay-and-Play and other product development opportunities
- Promotion of four-season activities
- Enhancements to, and increased promotion of, Town of Midland tourism activities, including festivals and special events
The committee’s composition includes representation from area accommodations and attractions. A member of Council, as well as Town and County Tourism Staff are ex officio members.
The committee meets twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall.
