The Severn Sound Environmental Association (SSEA) is a partnership between seven municipalities in the Severn Sound Watershed. Each municipality appoints one person to serve on the SSEA Board. The SSEA Board holds quarterly meetings where management and review of the business of the SSEA Office occurs.

SSEA & the Town of Midland
The SSEA supports local municipalities in protecting and improving the Severn Sound watershed. The Town of Midland is a founding municipal member of the SSEA, collaborating with the SSEA to support environmental stewardship and a healthy natural environment for the community.
As Midland’s environmental partner, the SSEA is an integral part of how the Town delivers environmental services to residents, providing science-based monitoring, stewardship programs, technical expertise, public education, and local support in areas such as:
- water quality, climate and watershed monitoring
- wildlife and habitat programs
- source water protection
- community stewardship
Through this support, SSEA helps Town staff and Council make informed decisions and support a healthy, resilient community.
