As per the Licensing & Control of Dogs By-law, every dog owner shall ensure that each owned dog is registered with and licensed by the Town of Midland before March 1 for each calendar year, unless the dog came into the owner's care after that date. The licence expires on December 31 each year. Any dog older than 3 months (12 weeks) must be licensed.
Upon initial registration, a dog tag with a unique identification number is provided, which serves as proof that the licence has been obtained. Each subsequent year of registration renews the existing dog tag/licence.
Fees
Guide and service dogs must be licensed; however, fees are waived. The Town requires written proof that your dog is recognized as a service dog by a licensed practitioner. See Guide Dogs & Service Animals (ontario.ca) for detail.
