Purpose Every dog owner must ensure that each owned dog is registered with and licensed by the Town of Midland before March 1 for each calendar year.

As per the Licensing & Control of Dogs By-law, every dog owner shall ensure that each owned dog is registered with and licensed by the Town of Midland before March 1 for each calendar year, unless the dog came into the owner's care after that date. The licence expires on December 31 each year. Any dog older than 3 months (12 weeks) must be licensed. 

Upon initial registration, a dog tag with a unique identification number is provided, which serves as proof that the licence has been obtained. Each subsequent year of registration renews the existing dog tag/licence.

Fees

Guide and service dogs must be licensed; however, fees are waived. The Town requires written proof that your dog is recognized as a service dog by a licensed practitioner. See Guide Dogs & Service Animals (ontario.ca) for detail.

  • Altered dog: $26.25
  • Unaltered dog: $31.50
March 1 to December 31 (late registration)
  • Altered dog: $42.00
  • Unaltered dog: $47.25

How to Apply

Two dogs can be registered at a time using this online form. Proof of rabies vaccination is required. Applications will be processed within two to five business days of receipt of payment. 

If you are licensing a service dog or wish to pay with cash or by debit, please apply in person at the municipal office at 575 Dominion Avenue.
