Fireworks Permit Applications

Consumer Fireworks Permit

As per the Fireworks By-law, a Consumer Fireworks Permit is required to discharge consumer fireworks, and no person shall discharge consumer fireworks except during the hours between 6pm and 11pm on the following days:

• Victoria Day and Canada Day
• Each of the seven days immediately preceding Victoria Day or Canada Day.
• Each of the three days immediately following Victoria Day or Canada Day.
• Any celebratory holidays with prior written approval from the Fire Chief or designate.

There is no cost for a one-time-use Consumer Fireworks Permit. Please note:

• Applications must be submitted at least seven days prior to the discharge date.
• Permits are valid for the listed event only upon application and are not valid if there is a fire ban (check the fire rating before discharging).

Consumer Fireworks Sales Permit 

As per the Fireworks By-law, a Consumer Fireworks Sales Permit is required to sell consumer fireworks in Midland. There is no cost for a Consumer Fireworks Sales Permit. Completed application forms can be submitted via email to FirePrevention@midland.ca. An inspection must be completed prior to the permit being issued. 

Display Fireworks, Pyrotechnic or Special Effects Permit 

As per the Fireworks By-law, a Display Fireworks, Pyrotechnic or Special Effects Permit is required to sell consumer fireworks in Midland. There is no cost for this permit. Completed application forms can be submitted via email to FirePrevention@midland.ca at least 28 days prior to the event.
