FireSafe Midland – Protect your family. Protect your home.
Midland Fire Department is offering free home fire safety inspections to help keep our community safe. Our team will visit your home and make sure you have:
- Working smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms that meet Ontario law.
- Alarms installed in the right locations based on the age of your home.
- A practiced home escape plan so your family knows what to do in an emergency.
- Fire safety tips tailored to your household.
A working alarm can be the difference between life and death in a fire or CO emergency. You may have less than three minutes to escape once a fire starts. Having the right alarms and a practiced plan gives your family the best chance to get out safely.
What to Expect
During your free inspection, our Fire Prevention team will:
- Check that your alarms are present, working, and not expired.
- Provide guidance on escape planning and safe practices at home.
- Offer replacement smoke and CO alarms at cost and help with installation where an electrician isn’t required.
Once the inspection has been completed and compliance has been achieved, you will be provided with a fire safety inspection report.
