To set up an outdoor patio in the Town of Midland, establishments must follow the Outdoor Patio Guidelines and submit an application. The Town reviews patio applications and design concepts to ensure:
- Universal accessibility
- Public safety, including fire safety and separation from traffic
- Enhancement of the streetscape experience
Patios should enhance the streetscape and not negatively impact it. Temporary tents are permitted for a maximum of four weeks unless an exemption is granted by the Executive Director, Community and Growth.
