As per the Auctioneers, Hawkers & Peddlers, Farmers’ Markets & Refreshment Vehicles By-law, to operate a refreshment vehicle in the Town of Midland, you need a Refreshment Vehicle / Food Vendor Licence. This includes chip trucks, coffee trucks, hot dog carts, and ice cream carts.

There is no charge for non-profit charitable organization/non-profit non-charitable organization.

As per the Fees and Charges By-law (By-law and Parking Schedule).

Applications must be submitted at least two weeks before the licence is needed.
Approval from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
Proof of $2 million comprehensive general liability insurance. If operating on municipal property, the Town must be named as an additional insured.
A to-scale drawing of the property where the food vendor will be located.
If using propane or gas, proof of inspection by a licensed installer.
If operating on private property, approval from the property owner.
If operating within the downtown area, approval from the Downtown Midland BIA.
