Mid-Pen Transit detours (both routes) | Sept. 21 – Oct. 16, 2026

There will be a detour to both the Midland and Penetanguishene Transit Mid-Pen Transit routes beginning Monday, September 21, 2026, lasting until approximately Friday, October 16, 2026, as a result of construction work being done at Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) with buses unable to safely access the hospital.

During the detour:

• both the Midland and Penetangushene buses will head towards GBGH as usual after stopping at the Huronia Mall Transfer Point.
• While travelling north on Penetanguishene Road, the buses will turn into the Canadian Tire parking lot instead of St. Andrew's Drive.
• There will be no service directly to the hospital.
• A temporary stop will be set up in the rear Canadian Tire parking lot (south side near the sidewalk). Please use this stop to access GBGH.
• The buses will turn around and exit the Canadian Tire parking lot back onto Penetanguishene Drive and continue on with their regular routes.
• The Midland bus will head north towards Howard Street.
• The Penetanguishene bus will proceed south on its way back to Penetanguishene.
