Mid-Pen Transit Yonge Street detour ending effective January 15

The street signals at the intersection of Yonge Street and Eighth Street are now fully operational as part of the Yonge Street Reconstruction project. As a result, the Mid-Pen Transit Midland route will no longer detour off of Yonge Street effective Thursday, January 15, and the normal Mid-Pen Transit Route will resume.

Since October 14, 2025, buses returning downtown from the southern Midland portion of the route proceeded west along Hugel Avenue towards the malls and Penetanguishene. The detour route then turned right onto County Road 93 towards Superstore and rejoined the regular route. This detour was in place due to the construction taking place on Yonge Street.
