Midland Fire to welcome Canada 911 Motorcycle Ride on August 22

The Midland Fire Department is proud to support the Canada 911 Motorcycle Ride during its scheduled stop in Midland on Saturday, August 22 at the Bourgeois Community Centre. Approximately 240 riders, many of whom are current and retired police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and other emergency service personnel from communities across Canada, are expected to arrive in Midland between 11:30am and noon and depart between 12:45pm and 1pm as part of the annual ride.

The Midland Fire Department, with support from firefighters from Penetanguishene, will assist in welcoming participants during their stop in the community.

Residents may notice increased motorcycle activity and short-duration traffic delays between approximately 11:30am and 1pm as participants travel through Midland under police escort. A portion of the Bourgeois Community Centre parking lot will be closed starting Thursday evening through Saturday evening to accommodate the event.

The Canada 911 Ride Foundation honours the memory and sacrifice of police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and other emergency service personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The visit provides an opportunity for Midland and neighbouring communities to recognize the service, dedication, and sacrifice of first responders while supporting a charitable initiative with a national impact.
