Midland proclaims National Public Works Week

The Town of Midland celebrates Public Works Week annually by hosting the Public Works Palooza. Mayor Bill Gordon has proclaimed May 17–23, 2026 as “National Public Works Week,” in the Town of Midland:

Whereas, the public works professionals in Midland are a vital component of our community, their focus on sustainable infrastructure, facilities and services provide a high quality of life and wellbeing for the people living in Midland, 

Whereas, National Public Works Week is a time to recognize the public works heroes who are responsible for rebuilding, improving and protecting Midland’s roads, means of transportation, water supply, water treatment and waste systems, public buildings, and other services and facilities essential for our citizens; and

Whereas, it is important that everyone understands the importance of public works and public works programs in their communities; and

Whereas, the Town of Midland celebrates Public Works Week annually by hosting the Public Works Palooza which provides an interactive and engaging step into the world of public works, this year happening on May 23, 2026, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Bourgeois Community Centre parking lot (527 Len Self Blvd).

Therefore, I, Bill Gordon, Mayor of the Town of Midland, do hereby proclaim May 17–23, 2026 as “National Public Works Week,” in the Town of Midland.
