Midland raises flag for VON Week
Today the Town of Midland raised the flag for VON Week. Mayor Bill Gordon has proclaimed May 17–23, 2026, as “VON Week” in the Town of Midland:
Whereas, The Victorian Order of Nurses for Canada is a charitable community-based health care organization that has addressed community health and social needs for 129 years; and
Whereas, VON Simcoe County nurses, home support workers, community service coordinators and many other staff and volunteers have been caring for the lives and well-being of residents of Midland since 2015 and VON’s nursing, health promotion and support services contribute to the health care system in Ontario.
Therefore, I, Bill Gordon, Mayor of the Town of Midland, do hereby proclaim May 17–23, 2026, as “VON Week”, in the Town of Midland.
