Spring street sweeping underway

The Town of Midland’s spring street sweeping program has begun, helping to clean roadways, improve safety, and protect stormwater systems after winter.

The annual spring sweeping program removes sand used throughout winter road maintenance. Spring street sweeping activities in Midland begin as soon as weather conditions permit. Inclement weather may result in delays, with sweeping resuming once conditions improve.

Crews have started work downtown in Zone 1, with an initial focus on parking lots and arterial roads. As weather conditions allow, operations will continue on arterial roads in other zones. Street sweeping is generally done between 8am and midnight on weekdays, with some activities taking place overnight.

Residents are asked to please avoid parking on the street during the street sweeping program, if possible, especially if the latest update posted at midland.ca/StreetSweeping indicates that sweepers are active in your zone. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep Midland’s streets clean and safe this spring.
