Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment
Looking for a meaningful way to serve your community? The Town of Midland, together with Tay Township, Town of Penetanguishene, Tiny Township and Georgian Bay Township, are now recruiting paid on-call firefighters.
Each local fire department is committed to protecting lives, property, and the environment through fire suppression, emergency response and public safety education. Together, we are seeking individuals who are passionate about serving their community and making a difference.

The application deadline is March 20, 2026 at 4pm.
March 2 Information Session
Get all your questions answered by attending the 2026 Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment Information Session, taking please at 7pm on Monday, March 2, at Tiny Township Station 2, 817 County Rd 6 South, Wyevale. Attending a session is not mandatory but highly encouraged.
How to Apply
Completed applications can be dropped off at the Town of Midland Fire Hall, 550 Bayshore Drive, during the hours of Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, or emailed to hr@midland.ca by 4pm on Friday, March 20, 2026. Please include the following:
- Completed Application Form* including the completed and signed Consent Waiver and Release Form
- Resume
- Cover Letter
- Copies of all relevant certifications/training
*Please note that the Medical Examination Report with attached Appendix A must be received before applicants will be permitted to participate in the physical testing. You do NOT require a signed medical form to apply. You will require the form to participate in the physical appraisal. It is recommended that you book your medical appointment in advance to ensure that you have the forms signed prior to the deadline.
