Summary of Proposal

The purpose of this application is to amend the text and maps of the Town's Official Plan to facilitate a residential and mixed-use development on the property. No development is proposed at this time. Rather, the applicant is seeking policy approvals.

Technical Proposal

The effect of the Official Plan Amendment is to:

  • Amend Schedule A – Growth Areas by removing the ‘Greenlands’ classification from the subject lands;
  • Amend Schedule B – Urban Structure to re-designate part of these lands from (i) ‘Greenlands’ to ‘Neighbourhood District’ and ‘Mixed-Use District’, and (ii) ‘Mixed-Use District’ to ‘Greenlands’;
  • Amend Schedule “C” – Land Use to re-designate a portion of these lands from (i) ‘Natural Heritage’ to ‘Mixed-Use Corridor’ and ‘Neighbourhood Residential’, and (ii) ‘Mixed-Use Corridor’ to ‘Natural Heritage’; and
  • Provide an exemption from Section 7.2.4 b) – being secondary plan policies – of the Town’s Official Plan.

A decision is not being made at this time.
