Celebrate Canada Day in Midland with a full day of family fun at Little Lake Park
The Town of Midland invites residents and visitors to come together on July 1 for a vibrant, family-friendly Canada Day celebration at Little Lake Park.
This year’s festivities promise a full day of community spirit and entertainment, featuring a lively parade, interactive activities, live performances, and a spectacular fireworks display to close out the evening.
The celebration begins with the Midland Civitan Parade at 10:30 a.m., followed by a full afternoon of activities from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Families can enjoy a variety of interactive experiences, including inflatable obstacle courses, paintball, face painting, children’s entertainers, and a photo booth. An artist and artisan market, along with a diverse lineup of food trucks, will also be on site.
Attendees can also enjoy live entertainment on stage from 11:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m., showcasing a variety of performers and keeping the energy going throughout the day.
The celebrations wrap up with a fireworks display at dusk, lighting up the sky over Little Lake and providing a memorable finale for attendees of all ages.
Visitors to Little Lake Park this Canada Day will also experience It Comes in Waves, a captivating floating public art installation that will be on display throughout the summer and is the anchor feature of the Canadian Museum of Water’s Celebrate Water! festival running throughout July. The installation reflects the Town’s commitment to public art as a way to animate public spaces, strengthen Midland’s sense of place, and create memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike.
The Town’s Canada Day event is free to attend, and residents are encouraged to wear their red and white and take part in the festivities. Please note that recent provincial changes allowing “bring‑your‑own” alcohol at outdoor events are optional for municipalities and that, in accordance with the Town’s Municipal Alcohol Policy, bring-your-own alcohol is not permitted at this event.
