Cruisin' Classics Car Show rolls into downtown Midland August 16; road closures in effect
The Town of Midland is revving up for the Cruisin' Classics Car Show, a new event celebrating the timeless appeal of classic vehicles and the vibrant spirit of the downtown core.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, King Street will be transformed into a showcase of classic cars and trucks. Attendees are encouraged to stroll the streets, admire the vintage rides, shop local, and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere in the heart of downtown.
“The inaugural Cruisin' Classics Car Show is an exciting opportunity to bring car enthusiasts and the community together in the heart of downtown Midland," said Mayor Bill Gordon. "We're looking forward to welcoming participants and spectators alike for a day of classic vehicles, local shopping, and community spirit.”
Owners of vehicles manufactured before 2006 are encouraged to register for the show. Online registration is available until August 11 at 4:30 p.m., with in-person registration taking place on August 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Registration is $10 plus HST per vehicle, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three entries.
To accommodate the event, road closures will be in effect in the downtown core from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on August 16. Closures include:
- King Street, Elizabeth Street to Bay Street
- Elizabeth Street, First Street to Midland Avenue
- Hugel Avenue, First Street to Midland Avenue
- Dominion Avenue, First Street to Midland Avenue
- Bay Street, First Street to King Street
The Cruisin' Classics Car Show takes place alongside the Northern Heat Rib Series, which returns to Harbourside Park from August 14–16.
