Holiday season affected services and reminders

For Immediate Release

(December 19, 2025 – Midland, ON) The Town of Midland advises residents of the following holiday closures and service interruptions.  

Recreation

The Bourgeois Community Centre will close at noon on December 24 and remain closed on December 25 and 26. The centre will close at 5pm on December 31 and remain closed on January 1. In addition to regular drop-in programs, there will be two free holiday skates:

  • Free Public Skate Sponsored by Bourgeois Auto Group
    December 31, 2025, noon–1:30 p.m.
     
  • Free Public Skate Compliments of Jill Dunlop
    January 2, 2026, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.

Mid-Pen Transit

There will be no Mid-Pen Transit service on December 25, December 26, and January 1. On December 24 and December 31, transit service will cease at noon, with the following service impacts:

  • Midland North final stop at 11:13 a.m.
  • Midland South final stop at 11:45 a.m.
  • Penetanguishene final stop 11:25 a.m.

Municipal Office Closure

Midland Town Hall, 575 Dominion Avenue, will close at noon on December 24, 2025, and will reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. While the municipal office will be closed, please note online services are available to:

Online applications and non-emergency requests will be processed starting January 2, 2026. For after-hour emergencies related to water, sewer, or roads, please call 705-527-8274.

Simcoe County Services

Please also note that Simcoe County is no longer responsible for recycling as of the New Year. Visit simcoe.ca/RecyclingChange for information.
