Midland’s Community Grant Program invests $48,000 in 12 local organizations

Midland Council has approved the allocation of $48,000 in Community Grant Program funding to 12 local non-profit organizations, formally confirming the recipients and award amounts for the Town’s 2026 intake.

Funding was awarded following a competitive application and evaluation process and is supported by proceeds raised through the annual Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament.

“Approval of these grants highlights the direct connection between this tournament and the programs that make a difference for residents,” said Mayor Gordon. “It’s a powerful example of how community participation translates into community impact.”

The approved Community Grant Program funding will support organizations delivering programs and services in areas such as arts and culture, heritage, youth and recreation, health, education, and social and human services. Approved recipients for the 2026 intake include:

  • Midland Legion
  • Quest Art School + Gallery
  • 1st Penetanguishene Guides
  • 1st Midland Sparks and Embers
  • Huronia Special Olympics
  • Knox Church Gift of Grace Soup Kitchen
  • The Salvation Army
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe
  • Huronia Community Foundation
  • Brookside Music Association
  • Georgian Bay Heritage League
  • Gateway Centre for Learning

In addition to the cash grants, Council also approved in‑kind contributions in the form of waived facility rental fees for Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe and the Brass Ring Dance Program.

The Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament, taking place on May 29 at Brooklea Golf and Country Club, plays an important role in supporting the Community Grant Program by raising funds that are reinvested directly into the community. Early bird registration for the golf tournament is available for $155 until Friday, May 8, after which the fee increases to $170. A silent auction will be hosted online from May 15–31.
