Plan your route: Yonge Street closed May 11 for final asphalt work

Yonge Street from Norene to Fourth will be closed from 6am to 6pm on Monday, May 11, as crews complete the final course of asphalt. Detours will be in place, with signage posted, and access to businesses will be maintained.

The Yonge Street Reconstruction Project was substantially completed over the winter. Finishing works this spring include concrete sidewalk replacements, surface course asphalt, pavement markings, and boulevard restoration. This project included: 

• New sanitary sewer replacement and associated services.
• New watermain replacement and associated services. 
• New barrier curb and gutter, restoration of all disturbed areas including driveways, topsoil, sod and surface elements.
• New asphalt from King Street to County Road 93.
• New cycling lanes.
