Review and update your school support designation by June 1

The Town of Midland is reminding all property owners and residents (including tenants) to review and update their school support designation by June 1, 2026, to ensure their information is included correctly on the Preliminary List of Electors for the October 26, 2026 municipal and school board elections.

Your school support designation:

  • determines which school board receives your education property taxes.
  • decides which School Board Trustee you can vote for in the 2026 election.
  • ensures you are placed on the correct voters list for municipal and school board elections.

Even if you do not have children in school, your property is still linked to a school board, and your designation still matters.

Ontario residents can choose to support one of four publicly funded school systems:

  • English Public
  • English Catholic (Separate)
  • French Public
  • French Catholic (Separate)

If no choice is made, your support is automatically directed to the English Public school board by default.

Both property owners and tenants can complete this process online. Visit the MPAC online portal to check or update your information, and refer to Midland’s Information for Voters for more details on the 2026 Municipal Elections.
