Tickets for Midland’s inaugural tourism conference on sale now

The Town of Midland, in partnership with Tourism Simcoe County, is launching its Tourism Day Conference on Tuesday, November 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Midland Cultural Centre. Designed for businesses, organizations, and individuals with an interest in tourism, the inaugural one-day event will provide attendees with valuable industry insights, professional development opportunities, and meaningful connections with other tourism professionals.

The conference is a direct outcome of the Town's new five-year Tourism Strategy, which was presented to Council earlier this year. The event also responds to findings from Midland's recent Community Tourism Survey, which demonstrated strong support from residents for growing and enhancing tourism in Midland

“Tourism plays a vital role in Midland’s economy, supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and contributing to the vibrancy of our community,” said Mayor Bill Gordon. “The Midland Tourism Day Conference brings together industry professionals, business owners, community partners, and other tourism enthusiasts to share ideas, build connections, and explore new opportunities to strengthen tourism across our region.”

The conference will feature a keynote presentation from Kevin Eshkawkogan, President and CEO of Indigenous Tourism Ontario, alongside expert-led sessions on visitor insights, film tourism, experience development, and destination marketing. Presenters include Bryan Plumstead (BP Insights) Tom Strnad (Mountain Goat Film Company Inc.), Kim Clarke (Regional Tourism Organization 7), and Chris Hughes (BC Hughes). Elder Trish Monague will open and close the event.

Tickets are $30 (including HST) and include full-day conference access, lunch and refreshments, expert presentations, practical tourism insights, and networking opportunities with industry professionals and business leaders.

Seats are limited to 100 participants and are expected to fill quickly. Registration closes October 28, 2026. Secure your spot today at midland.ca/TourismDay
