Town of Midland invites input on Short-Term Rental Accommodation By-law

The Town of Midland is inviting residents, property owners, short-term rental operators, and other interested community members to participate in the development of Midland's proposed Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRA) By-law by attending a Public Information Centre (PIC) and completing an online survey.

Council previously directed staff to develop a short-term rental accommodation by-law and undertake public consultation to help inform its creation. Through this consultation process, the Town is seeking input on potential regulations, standards, and requirements that may be included in the future by-law.

The PIC will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the Bourgeois Community Centre (Bill Thompson Room). Two drop-in sessions will be offered to provide flexibility for participants:

  • Session 1: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Session 2: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Town staff will be available to provide information about the project, answer questions, and collect feedback from attendees regarding the proposed by-law.

Community members are also invited to share their feedback through an online survey. The survey will be available prior to the September 8 PIC. Feedback collected through both the survey and PIC will be considered as part of the by-law development process.
