Town of Midland starting a once-in-a-generation conversation about Midland’s future

What kind of community do we want Midland to become over the next 25 years?

The Town of Midland is inviting residents, businesses, community organizations, and everyone with a connection to Midland to help answer that question through a new online survey as part of Community Vision: Midland 2050.

Community Vision: Midland 2050 is a community-wide initiative to define a shared vision for Midland's future. Through research, community engagement, and long-term planning, the project will help identify the values, aspirations, and priorities that should guide the community through 2050.

The survey marks the beginning of the project's community engagement phase and is one of the first opportunities for residents and community partners to share their perspectives. Participants are invited to share their ideas about Midland's future, what should be preserved as the community changes, and the priorities they believe should help shape the community in the years ahead.

"We're starting a once-in-a-generation conversation about our future," said Rhonda Bunn, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Midland. "This is an opportunity for people across Midland to share what matters most to them, what they hope future generations will experience, and what kind of community we want to become."

Recognizing that people engage in different ways, the Town is also inviting community groups, businesses, service clubs, faith communities, neighbourhood associations, and other organizations to bring the conversation to their members. Project team members are available to attend community events, meetings, and gatherings, or facilitate discussions about Midland's future.
