Tax Relief & Rebate Programs

The Town of Midland offers several property tax relief and rebate programs to support eligible property owners.

Adjustments

Request a property tax adjustment for reasons such as fire, demolition, change of use, renovations that prevent normal use, clerical and factual errors, major repairs, etc. 

Relief for Low-Income Seniors & Persons with Disabilities

Low-income homeowners in the County of Simcoe who meet certain criteria, and whose property taxes have increased over the previous year, may apply for a tax reduction of up to $250 against an eligible increase.

Rebates for Registered Charities

If you operate a registered charity or similar organization, you may be eligible for a 40% rebate on paid property taxes if you meet the eligible requirements.

Relief for Heritage Properties

The Heritage Property Tax Relief Program recognizes the higher property maintenance costs and the community benefits of heritage properties.

Other Tax Relief or Rebate Programs

If your property is classified as farmland and is used for agricultural purposes, you may qualify for the Farm Property Class Tax Rate Program.
