  • Public Meeting February 26, 2025: Development Charges

    Notice of Public Meeting regarding Development Charges: Take notice that on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the Council of the Town of Midland will hold a Public Meeting pursuant to The Development Charges Act, 1997, regarding proposed Development Charge rates and policies that will be applied throughout the Town and the areas of Tiffin by the Bay and Balm Beach. It is proposed that enactment of a Development Charges By-law by Council would occur on a date subsequent to the Public Meeting.

  • Council approves Midland's 2025 Budget

    (January 31, 2025, Midland ON) Yesterday, Council approved the Town’s 2025 Budget following three days of deliberations. Staff developed the operating and capital budgets with the guiding principles from Council’s Strategic Plan. The municipal budget provides a balanced approach to investing in critical infrastructure while ensuring fiscal responsibility.

  • Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment Board Inaugural Meeting

    The public is invited to attend the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment Board's inaugural meeting.

    • When: Monday, January 27, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.
    • Where: Tay Township Council Chambers (450 Park St, Victoria Harbour, ON L0K 2A0).
  • Cold Weather in Midland

    Everyone can be affected by the cold. It is important to take extra steps to stay safe during enhanced cold weather conditions, as directed by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU).

  • Nominations are open for the 2025 Heritage Awards

    The Heritage Awards are back and the Town of Midland is looking for nominations. There are two award types to nominate for; Heritage Merit Awards and Heritage Appreciation Awards.

  • Winter closures for Midland's parks and trails

    During the colder season, Midland's parks and trails are closed. This helps protect these outdoor spaces and limits potential damage. In some locations, barriers have been added to prevent use and ensure everyone's safety as there is no maintenance. 

    Your understanding and cooperation in keeping residents, visitors and these important outdoor spaces safe is appreciated.
