Midland Public Works Palooza returns May 23

The Town of Midland invites residents and visitors to attend the annual Public Works Palooza, a free, family-friendly event celebrating the essential services that keep our community running, held in recognition of National Public Works Week.

Public Works Week recognizes the important contributions of public works professionals who support the safety, health, and quality of life in our community. Public Works Palooza is a key local celebration of this national initiative, offering residents an opportunity to learn more about the people, equipment, and services that operate behind the scenes every day.

“National Public Works Week is an opportunity to recognize the dedicated individuals who keep Midland running safely and efficiently every day,” said Mayor Bill Gordon. “Public Works Palooza brings that work to life for our community, giving residents a hands-on look at the essential services they rely on and a chance to thank the teams who deliver them.”

Join us on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bourgeois Community Centre parking lot (527 Len Self Blvd.) for an interactive afternoon of learning and fun. The event is hands-on and engaging for all ages, featuring:

  • Up-close access to municipal vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Opportunities to sit in the driver’s seat and explore tools used by Town crews
  • Interactive activities, games, and prizes
  • A community barbecue (donations welcomed in support of the Community Grant Program)

Attendees will also have the chance to meet the teams and partner organizations that help deliver critical services across Midland, including emergency services, utilities, and environmental partners. Visit midland.ca/palooza for full event information.
