The County of Simcoe is the final Approval Authority for Official Plan Amendments for the Town of Midland. As such, this Official Plan Amendment application will be forwarded to the County of Simcoe for review and a final decision. TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Midland passed By-law 2026-31 on the 20th day of May, 2026, under Subsection 22 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13 adopting Official Plan Amendment No. 5 to the Town of Midland Official Plan.

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the Official Plan Amendment is to:
- Amend Schedule ‘A’ Growth Areas, by re-redesignating the subject lands from ‘Greenlands’ to ‘Strategic Growth Areas I’.
- Amend Schedule ‘B’ Urban Structure, by re-designating the subject lands from ‘Greenlands’ to ‘Neighbourhood District’.
- Amend Schedule ‘C’ Land Use Designation, by re-designating the subject lands from ‘Natural Heritage’ to ‘Neighbourhood Residential-Exception with a Natural Heritage Overlay’ designation.
- amend Section 3 – General Development Policies of the Town of Midland Official Plan by including a new subsection titled ‘3.6 Natural Heritage Overlay’ after ‘3.5 Hazard Lands’.
- That a new sub-section, being 4.3.5.2 – 983 Yonge Street, be added to the Town of Midland Official Plan, to include additional policies directly associated with the development of the subject lands.
