Community Calendar Event Submission Criteria

Submit a Community Event Listing

Thank you for your interest in submitting your event(s) to the Town of Midland's community calendar! Community events add to the quality of life that we enjoy in Midland.

All events submitted to the Town's community calendar will be published* if:

  1. they are open to the public and occur within a specific day/time range, and
  2. they occur within Southern Georgian Bay townships—Midland, Penetanguishene, Tay, or Tiny—or are hosted virtually by a Southern Georgian Bay organization/business, and
  3. they have event details published on the event host's website or official social channel.

Please note submitted events will NOT be published on the calendar if they:

  • are a series of programs, camps, lessons, courses, etc. that require paid enrolment and/or exclusive approval to attend.
  • are exclusively silent auctions, raffles, online fundraising, or online awareness campaigns.
  • are exhibitions focused on the display of items over a period of time.
  • are only attempting to generally advertise, promote or sell regular products or services of an individual business (i.e. not a special event for the business).
  • require a Special Event Application or facility booking but do not have one.
  • promote, exhibit, illustrate or manifest hate or obscene content of any kind.
  • do not comply with the municipal, provincial or federal legislation.
Other than all candidates' meetings, events deemed political in nature will not be posted after the writ has been dropped for a federal or provincial election or after the first day of a municipal election year.

Submitted community events go through an approval process to help ensure integrity of the community event listing; it may take up to 5 business days before the event is published.

Town of Midland staff reserve the right to post, refuse to post, or remove any event from the calendar at any time, without notice or notification.
