Animals & Pets

If you have concerns about rabies or need guidance after an animal bite or scratch, please visit the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit’s rabies page for information on next steps.

Report Animal Cruelty

To report animal cruelty, visit Ontario’s Animal Welfare page or call 1-833-9-ANIMAL (264625) for immediate assistance. If you face an emergency call 911.

Exotic & Wild Animals

Midland residents are not allowed to keep wild or dangerous animals like mink, foxes, reptiles or other wild animals that may cause harm. If you spot a coyote, its because they're often drawn to accessible food sources. Managing attractants is the best way to avoid conflicts and property damages. Coyotes can come to a property by dog food and feces.
