The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is responsible for assessing and classifying properties in Ontario in accordance with the Assessment Act and regulations set by the Government of Ontario.

Understanding your assessment information

You can register for MPAC AboutMyProperty account on MPAC website to view your assessment, learn more about how assessment works, how your property type’s assessed value was determined, view your notices, update your school support information and mailing address, compare your assessed value to others in their area and much more.

Disputing Your Property Assessment

If you disagree with your assessed value and/or classification:

  1. Submit a Request for Reconsideration (RfR) form to MPAC or call 1-866-296-6722 to request a form.

  2. Write a letter including your 19-digit roll number found in your notice - your full name, address, phone number and the reason for your request dispute with supporting information.

  3. You may also file an appeal with the Assessment Review Board (ARB), an independent tribunal under the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General.
