Areas in Midland are still experiencing power outages. Some traffic signals may not be functioning and roads may be closed to complete clean up, please proceed with caution when travelling.
Warming centres in Midland remain open based on community need and timing of power restoration.
Relief and Warming Centres:
- North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre (527 Len Self Blvd)
- Open from 8:00am to 10:00pm
- Town Hall (575 Dominion Avenue)
- Open from 8:30am to 4:30pm
Residents can come in to:
- Warm up (bring your own blankets and refreshments).
- Charge electronic devices (bring your own charging cables and blocks).
- Fill personal water bottles.

The ongoing power outage has been challenging, though Midland's resiliency and strength has continued to shine through. Our community has stepped up in so many amazing ways, checking on neighbours, providing food, and ensuring everyone remains safe and warm.
Thank you to the emergency services, hydro and town operations crews who are working around the clock during this time to keep everyone safe.
The Town has two Relief and Warming Centres open for residents today if you need a warm place to go or to charge your phone, visit the:
- North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre (527 Len Self Blvd) open until 10:00pm
- Town Hall (575 Dominion Avenue) open until 4:30pm
Operating hours will be assessed based on community need and power restoration progress.
Reporting downed Town trees:
To report downed trees that are not life-threatening, please report by making an online case, email us or call us (705-526-4275). Only call 911 in emergency or life-threatening situations.
Town parks:
It is unsafe to enter any park areas as the storm has caused extensive damage, with many downed and unstable trees.
Private property clean up:
If you begin yard cleanup, exercise extreme caution. Hazards such as downed wires, sharp debris, and unstable branches may not be visible and can pose serious risks. Always treat all wires as live and keep a safe distance. Do not place debris, branches, or trees on roads or boulevards. This obstructs emergency response and delays cleanup efforts.
County of Simcoe waste drop-off sites will be accepting brush debris, free of charge, from March 31 through April 5, 2025. Visit the County of Simcoe website for more.
Transit service:
Mid-Pen Transit Service is running today, riders can access the Relief and Warming Centre at the NSSRC using the bus. Find the route schedule on our Transit webpage.
County waste collection:
Waste collections for regular Monday routes will continue where possible. If areas are missed on Monday, residents can leave materials curbside and the County will attempt to collect during the week up to and including Friday, April 4, 2025.

- Monday: 8:00am to 10:00pm
- Town Hall (575 Dominion Avenue)
- Sunday: until 6:00pm
- Monday: 8:30am to 4:30pm
These are not overnight shelters and service animals are permitted. Residents with essential medical devices will be given priority access to charging areas. Please notify staff upon arrival if this applies to you.
Residents can come in to:

Town crews continue to monitor roads for icing, debris and clear downed trees as best as possible. Residents are encouraged to stay off the roads, as they remain icy, and to avoid unnecessary travel.
