The timeline follows the phases that will take place in 2025.
The Vision
February to April 2025 - Phase 1: Consultants, Town Council, staff and the public collaborated on the Midland Bay Landing vision.
Engagement Survey
March 20, 2025 - Survey open for two weeks.
MBL Open House Event
April 15, 2025 - Public information sessions (afternoon and evening) about Midland Bay Landing.
Market the Opportunity
May to September 2025 - Phase 2: Consultants and staff used the framework created from public collaboration to develop and issue the Request for Expressions of Interest.
Consultant Presentation
May 21,2025 - Consultants presented a "What We Heard" presentation to Council.
Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI)
June 18, 2025 to 2pm August 8, 2025 - Submissions in response to the RFEI were being accepted.
Selecting the Developer
September to December 2025 - Phase 3: Town Council will select the right developer with a shared vision following review and evaluation of proposals.

Other Resources
As the site is contaminated from former industrials uses, extensive environmental sampling was conducted and the Town followed the regulatory and risk assessment process as prescribed by the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). See links below to studies completed.
MECP Certificate of Property use
A Certificate of Property Use (CPU) from the MECP is now registered on Title on the development land (July 2022). In general, the environmental requirements as described in the CPU and as approved by the MECP, require that the contaminated soil be covered with either concrete, asphalt or other hard surfaces, or by adding one metre of clean soil on top of the site.

Midland Bay Landing is located on the shores of Georgian Bay, north of Bayshore Drive and east of the Town’s Harbour.
What is the status of the Midland Bay Landing Development corporation?
The Midland Bay Landing Development Corporation was dissolved by Council in October of 2023. At that time Council authorized Staff to issue a new Request for Proposals for the entire Midland Bay Landing site.
