As the site is contaminated from former industrials uses, extensive environmental sampling was conducted and the Town followed the regulatory and risk assessment process as prescribed by the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). See links below to studies completed.

MECP Certificate of Property use
A Certificate of Property Use (CPU) from the MECP is registered on Title on the development land (July 2022). In general, the environmental requirements as described in the CPU and as approved by the MECP, require that the contaminated soil be covered with either concrete, asphalt or other hard surfaces, or by adding one metre of clean soil on top of the site.
