Fire Danger Rating

The fire danger rating is checked daily and updated whenever it changes. Always confirm the current rating on this page or by calling 705-526-4275 before burning. Visit Open-Air Burn Permit for information on how to obtain a burn permit.

Current Fire Danger Rating: LOW

No open air burning is allowed year-round without a permit. All fires must have adequate tools and resources to extinguish the fire and must be supervised at all times. Fires must abide by all stipulations set out in the Open Air Burning By-Law.

Fire Danger Rating & Permitted Activities

The fire danger rating expresses a variety of factors that could increase the threat of an open fire, such as ease of ignition, wind speed, precipitation levels and difficulty of control. There are four levels:
