Community Grant Program

This community-based funding program is designed to enhance the well-being and quality of life for the citizens of Midland. It provides financial assistance to not-for-profit organizations and individuals delivering a wide range of programs and services throughout the community. This program is funded through The Mayor's Charity Golf Tournament.

2026 Applications Open

The approved funding for the 2026 program is $48,000. The funding threshold per applicant is $7,500. Eligible organizations are invited to apply by March 20, 2026.

Eligibility

Eligible programs include those in the arts, culture, heritage, sports, environment, health, education, social and human services. Programs must be:

  • inclusive, open and accessible.
  • open to the public and of benefit to the town in general. Programs of a broader regional nature should demonstrate efforts in seeking funding from other benefiting communities.

Only one request per applicant is accepted, unless there is a partnership or co-program delivery. Applicants cannot receive funding for more than three consecutive years.

How to Apply

The application deadline is March 20, 2026. Applicants, please note:

  • The application process is a competitive process.
  • There are more grant applications received than available funding.
  • Approval of past funding requests does not ensure approval of future requests.
  • Established programs may receive funding for new expansion opportunities or unexpected challenges.
  • While preference is given to new initiatives, a promising early-stage program may receive a grant covering more than one year if it demonstrates successful development and potential for future self-sustainability.
  • Consideration of any future grant is contingent upon submission of the Community Grant Program Accountability Form to the Town of Midland upon completion of the project and approval by the Community Grant Committee.

Completed forms can be submitted:

  • by email: grants@midland.ca
  • by mail: Finance Department, Town of Midland, 575 Dominion Avenue, Midland ON, L4R 1R2
