  • Nominations are open for the 2026 Heritage Awards
    Celebrate Midland's history with the 2026 Heritage Awards - nominations are open! The Heritage Awards are back and the Town of Midland is looking for nominations. There are two award types to nominate for; Heritage Merit Awards and Heritage Appreciation Awards.
  • Invasive Species Treatment

    The Town of Midland’s contractor will be spraying a herbicide to control phragmites (an invasive species) in various areas around Town starting next week. Signage will be placed in areas where spraying is being done. Please obey the signage and avoid these areas. 

  • Midland Bay Landing Project Update

    The Town of Midland is excited to announce the successful completion of the first stage of procurement for the Midland Bay Landing redevelopment. This project continues to generate strong interest from both the public and the development community, with clear alignment to the Town’s vision for a vibrant, mixed-use, and accessible waterfront destination.

  • Open Forum Feature at Council

    Residents can now briefly address Council on agenda items through a new Open Forum, allowing two-minute comments within a ten-minute session. To participate, attendees must register with the Clerk and follow the town’s Procedure By-law.

  • Sundowner Well Servicing

    A 90-day pumping test will take place at Sundowner Well starting October 2025, with water directed through roadside ditches to Little Lake and regular sampling to meet provincial standards. The test updates groundwater data and follows a similar study from 2009-2010.

  • Payment options during Canada Post strike 2025
    Set up a pre-authorized payment plan at the Municipal office:
    • Visit the Municipal office to sign up for pre-authorized payment plans for water and property taxes. Bring a copy of your VOID cheque or the authorized banking information provided by your bank to complete your application.
    Payments in person:
    • Complete your payment at the Municipal office with cash, cheque, debit card, or with a credit card (2.4% fee may apply), see more details......
  • Town Statement on the Use of Community Safety Programs

    The Town of Midland remains committed to the safety of our residents, particularly our most vulnerable road users, especially children in school zones and pedestrians in community safety zones. The Community Safety Speed Camera program, using Automated Speed Cameras (ASE), launched in September 2025, is an evidence-based initiative supported by current provincial legislation under the Highway Traffic Act and O. Reg. 398/19. 

  • Midland recognizes Historic Dollartown with new street signs

    Join us on Wednesday, September 24 at 11:30 a.m. as the Town of Midland and the Heritage Committee proudly unveil the first of 77 unique Historic Dollartown Street Signs!

  • Midland and Penetanguishene to Appoint Independent Fire Chiefs

    The Towns of Midland and Penetanguishene have jointly agreed to transition away from their shared Fire Chief arrangement, with Midland initiating the recruitment of a permanent full-time Fire Chief who will also serve as Director of Emergency Services.  As part of this change, Penetanguishene will retain its current Fire Chief, ensuring continuity and stability in emergency services leadership while undertaking a review of its Fire Department structure to meet the evolving needs of the community.

  • Automated Speed Enforcement will be live in Midland on September 2
    Starting on September 2, 2025, Midland's Community Safety Speed Cameras will be live. There are two community safety speed cameras in Midland running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 
    • William Street - Community Safety Zone in front of Sacred Heart Catholic School 
    • Yonge Street - Community Safety Zone in front of Mundy's Bay Public School
