Planning & Development

The Town of Midland Planning Services Department regulates the use of land and undertakes long-term policy planning to ensure our community continues to be a great place to live and do business.

The Town's land use planning documents are shaped by and must comply with higher order land use policies and plans, including the County of Simcoe Official Plan, the Provincial Planning Statement 2024, and other plans and regulations.

These efforts are guided by the Ontario Planning Act and the Ontario Heritage Act, which work together to help municipalities plan for growth while protecting heritage properties that reflect our community’s history and character.
