  • Province invests $50,000 to strengthen Midland’s Emergency Preparedness

    The Ontario government has strengthened Midland’s emergency readiness with a $50,000 investment through the 2024–25 Community Emergency Preparedness Grant (CEPG). This integral funding supported the purchase of new technology and emergency preparedness training, which will enhance local response capabilities, as well as critical signage including a portable digital sign to communicate news, alerts and instructions during emergency situations.

  • Town of Midland seeks real estate firm for realty and listing services

    The Town of Midland is inviting proposals from qualified real estate firms to provide on-call realty and listing services. The successful firm will support the Town in selling municipally owned assets and purchasing assets needed for municipal purposes. 

  • Town’s $149,900 OTF grant from the Province helped with renovations at the LLP Amphitheatre Stage

    Today, a representative from MPP Jill Dunlop’s constituency office, Leslie Stroud, met with Mayor Bill Gordon, members of Town Council and staff at the Little Lake Park Amphitheatre to celebrate the results of a $149,900 Capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The grant, which was awarded in 2023, was used to make needed renovations to the amphitheatre.

This exceptional opportunity covers a 40-acre deepwater waterfront parcel located along Georgian Bay, right next to the revitalized downtown area of Midland.

    Further prioritizing public safety on town roads to reduce speeding in designated areas, Midland is officially launching its Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) Program. Signage has been installed at designated locations, and enforcement begins in early September following the mandatory 90-day public awareness period, ensuring that residents and motorists are informed well in advance of implementation.

    The sweetest day of the year is almost here! More than 300,000 butter tarts will be up for grabs in Midland at Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival presented by Chapman’s on June 14. The festival begins at 9 a.m. with the ceremonial Piping of the Tart by the Midland Pipes and Drums and opening remarks from Mayor Bill Gordon.

Each spring, the Town of Midland undertakes essential infrastructure projects, such as road reconstruction and resurfacing. These projects enhance safety, improve mobility, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our community.

    Improvements are scheduled for the following roads:

    • Ellen Street Reconstruction
    • Angela Schmidt Foster Road Resurfacing
