Cast a line at Midland’s Kids Fishing Derby on June 7

Calling all young, local anglers! The Kids Fishing Derby is on June 7, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Midland Town Dock. Reel in the fun with this special chance to cast off at the Midland Town Dock!

What to expect:

• The free event is open to all youth in the community, up to the age of 16.
• Attendees will also enjoy a free hot dog lunch with a juice box.
• Meet and greet with some beloved characters, including Sparky the Fire Dog, and visit the free face-painting station to choose a fun design.
• Participants will get a fun prize to take home and an entry into the bike draw, donated by generous sponsors (must be present to win).

How to join in the fun:

• Get your fishing rods ready and cast off between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Free bait will be provided at registration.
• Make sure you are geared up for any weather, wear a hat, sunscreen and bring a water bottle. 
• Once you've got a bite, reel em' in and snap a pic! Release the fishy friend back to the water.
• Participants and their parents and/or guardians must observe all safety precautions including the use of safety equipment such as wearing life jackets. The Town of Midland does not provide life jackets.
