Midland proclaims Earth Day

Proclamation

Earth Day, April 22, 2025

Whereas, Earth Day was initially celebrated on April 22, 1970, marking the inception of the environmental movement and has since evolved into the largest participatory environmental movement on the planet; and

Whereas, Earth Day marks a renewed commitment to environmental stewardship and to the implementation of efforts to improve, protect and enhance the environment; and

Whereas, global challenges continue to grow, the crisis of climate change, loss of nature and biodiversity, and the threat from pollution and waste; and

Whereas, the Town of Midland aims to engage in meaningful conversations and adopt positive practices surrounding environmental issues and sustainability; and

Whereas, residents of Midland are encouraged to implement practices designed to preserve and protect our environment and aid in shaping the future of our environmental security.

Now Therefore Be It Resolved That I, Bill Gordon, Mayor of the Town of Midland, do hereby proclaim April 22, 2025, to be “Earth Day” in the Town of Midland.
