Lost and found

Mid-Pen Transit is not responsible for lost items. If you think you left an item on a bus, please contact Customer Service.

Flag down service

You can catch the bus at any safe point on its route. Passengers seeking bus service are not required to be at a bus stop or shelter to get on or off a bus. Mid-Pen Transit allows passengers standing in a safe location to flag down bus along its route and get on the bus.

Transfer information

The transfer point between Midland and Penetanguishene is at Huronia Mall. Riders will request a transfer slip while paying fare onboarding the bus. Transfers are valid for 30mins.

Transfers will receive a discounted fare on the LINX bus. Simcoe County maintains the LINX service.

Bus behaviour

Mid-Pen Transit commits to upholding all aspects of the Ontario Human Rights Code. We will ensure that every person receives equal treatment in receipt of service.

Rules and guidelines

Mid-Pen Transit operators are responsible for the enforcing the rules and guidelines.

 Rules on the Bus
  • Eating and drinking are not permitted.
  • The bus also uses the "Hail Bus" (flag down service) method where traffic flow permits.
  • Passengers travelling with strollers and/or bundle buggies must: board and exit the bus unassisted, maintain care and control of their stroller and/or bundle buggy, and keep the stroller and bundle buggy clear of the aisle.
  • Phones or other devices that play music or make noise must be used with headphones.
  • Shoes and shirts and some footwear must be worn at all times on the bus.
  • Priority seats are available at the front of all buses for older adults or people with disabilities.
  • When standing, please move to the very back of the bus.
  • Pets (unless secured in a small pet carrier) are not permitted; service animals are permitted.
  • Passengers are encouraged to exit at the rear doors when safe to do so.
  • Skis, toboggans, snowboards, and wagons are not permitted.
  • Bicycles are only permitted on bicycle racks provided on the front of buses.
  • Inline skates cannot be worn.
 Rules on buses and bus shelters
  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted, in accordance with the Town of Midland by-laws.
  • Care and control of personal property should be taken at all times. Mid-Pen Transit is not responsible for personal items damaged or stolen during service.
  • Swearing or use of profane or discriminatory language is not permitted.

Guide dogs and service animals 

Mid-Pen Transit accepts service and guide dogs onboard. Service animals will need to provide documentation if they are not in uniform.

Strollers and bundle buggies

Mid-Pen Transit accepts single strollers or bundle buggies. Passengers must ensure their belongings do not interfere with other passengers. Accessible passenger spots will need to be priority for passengers with disabilities.

Transportation of bicycles

Mid-Pen Transit provides racks for bicycles on the front of a limited number of buses. 

Passengers are responsible for loading, securing and unloading their bikes. The following guidelines apply:
  • Space is available on a first come, first serve basis. 

  • Large bikes and scooter-style bicycles are not compatible with the racks

  • Passengers must remove all detachable items from their bicycle.

Transportation of other items

Transportation of bulk items will be at the operator's discretion. 

Mid-Pen Transit will not allow:

  • Firearms
  • Offensive or prohibited weapons
  • Chemicals
  • Toxic substances
  • Flammables

Aisles must remain clear of belongings.
