- What: A Statutory Public Meeting for a privately-initiated application to amend the Town's Zoning By-law
- When: Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
- Where: In-Person at the Town Hall or virtually on Zoom
- Property Location: 526 Bay Street
- Why: The proposed zoning by-law amendment, if approved, would permit a four-storey, 15-unit apartment building with a mix of uses on the ground floor.
Purpose and Effect of the Amendment
- To rezone the lands from the Highway Commercial Zone (HC) to a site-specific exemption zone (HC-XX) in accordance with the following:
- Add “Apartment Building, Mixed Use” as a permitted use, and
- Amend the definition of an “Apartment Building, Mixed Use” to add "Accessory residential uses shall be permitted on the ground floor of an Apartment Building, Mixed Use, such as an office, entryway, storage, lockers, common room, and mailboxes".
