Wastewater Sewer Overflow Report - March 16, 2025

On March 16, 2025 Midland’s wastewater collection system experienced an overflow of 2000 m3 due to excessive rainfall and snowmelt.
All regulatory reporting requirements have been met. Please note that the overflow waters received basic disinfection and dechlorination.

The Significant Weather Event has been lifted as of 4:00 p.m., March 12, 2025. The Operations team has completed snow cleanup on Town roads to comply with the Province's Minimum Maintenance Standards.
Thank you to the community for your support and patience throughout the last few weeks. Winter maintenance will continue during the day and overnight. Remember to avoid parking on roadways and to stay a safe distance away from maintenance vehicles.

The Midland Fire Department has proudly continued a time-honoured tradition and welcomed their new 811 Pumper truck with an “in-service” ceremony!
Dating back to the late 1880s, firefighters would physically push their horse-drawn apparatus back into the station, as horses could not reverse easily. What began as necessity has since become a symbol of teamwork, a reminder that while technology has evolved, the strength of a fire department has always come from people working together.
